General
What is AppCafe?
AppCafe is an AI-powered app builder that turns plain-English prompts into working websites and applications — with no coding, no deployment setup, and no database configuration required.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. AppCafe is built for non-technical users. You write a prompt, AppCafe builds the site. If you are not sure how to write a good prompt, the Improve prompt with AI option helps you before generation starts.
Do I need to know how to write a good prompt?
No. Enable Improve prompt with AI (on by default) and AppCafe will ask you clarifying questions and refine your prompt before building starts.
What stack do generated apps use?
Generated apps use a modern React and Next.js-based stack deployed to Cloudflare Workers and Pages. You do not need to know what that means — AppCafe handles all of it.
Why is AppCafe cheaper than other builders?
AppCafe deploys on Cloudflare, which is significantly cheaper to operate than traditional hosting providers. That cost reduction is passed on to you. Also, AppCafe does not bundle one-time build costs (credits used during generation) into your monthly plan — so your ongoing subscription rate is lower.
Where is my site hosted?
On Cloudflare's global network. Every published site gets automatic HTTPS, global CDN distribution, and DDoS protection — included with all plans.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Custom domain support is available on paid plans. Connect your existing domain from deployment settings.
Building and editing
Can I use a website URL or screenshot as a design reference?
Yes. Paste a URL or upload a screenshot when starting a project. AppCafe extracts the design direction and uses it as inspiration for your site's visual style.
Can I upload my own images?
Yes. You can upload your own images to replace any AI-generated ones in your project.
Can I edit the site after it's generated?
Yes. AppCafe supports three editing modes:
- Visual editor for direct layout and content changes
- Chat editing for natural-language update requests
- Code view for precise source-level edits
You can edit individual pages, specific sections, or individual images without regenerating the whole project.
What kinds of forms can AppCafe generate?
Any form you describe in your prompt — contact forms, booking requests, inquiry forms, lead capture, and more. Submitted data appears in an admin dashboard that is generated with the site. No third-party service or plugin required.
Can I choose which AI model is used?
Yes. AppCafe provides two default model groups (Lite and Pro). Paid users can also create custom model presets and select from hundreds of models across providers for planning, code generation, and image generation tasks.
Credits and billing
Is there a free account?
Yes. New accounts receive starter credits to generate a first project. No credit card required.
How does pricing work?
AppCafe uses two separate cost types:
- Monthly plan — covers platform access and hosting. This cost stays low because AppCafe does not bundle build costs into it.
- Credits — consumed when you run AI operations (generation, editing, image creation). Credits never expire and are separate from your monthly plan.
You are not paying for build costs every month on a site that is already live.
What happens to my credits if I cancel my subscription?
Credits never expire and are not tied to your subscription. If you cancel, your credit balance remains. You will be on the free tier but can still use your credits within free-tier limits.
How do I add more credits?
Go to Billing in your dashboard and purchase a credit top-up. Credits are added immediately.
Accounts and admin access
Is my AppCafe account the same as the admin account for my generated site?
No. Your AppCafe account gives you access to the AppCafe platform. Each generated site gets its own generated admin credentials — a separate email and temporary password.
Where do I find the generated site's admin credentials?
Open App Settings after the project has been generated or published.
What happens on the first admin login to my generated site?
Sign in with the generated admin email and temporary password. You are immediately required to change the password. After that, the temporary password is hidden.
Agencies
Can I transfer a project to my client's account?
Yes. You can transfer a completed project to a client's AppCafe account. The client takes ownership and can continue editing or managing the site themselves.
Can I download the source code?
Yes, on Business plans and above. Download the generated code and hand it off to a developer or self-host it.
Can I deploy to a client's Cloudflare account?
Yes, on Business plans and above. Enter the client's Cloudflare API key in project settings and AppCafe deploys to their infrastructure instead of AppCafe's.
Troubleshooting
My generation looks stuck
Most generations finish quickly, but larger projects can take longer. If it appears stuck:
- Refresh the page and reopen the workflow.
- Check whether the latest workflow step is still progressing.
- If the workflow clearly failed, retry from the workflow view.
My preview is missing images
Image generation sometimes completes after the rest of the page structure is ready. Wait for the full workflow to finish before assuming the preview is broken. If a specific image still looks wrong, regenerate that image from the editor.
My published site admin cannot log in
Verify you are using the generated admin email from App Settings and the current temporary password. If the password was lost or expired, reset it from App Settings and try again.
I need help completing my project
